Who we are
Riptide Gaffs is a small business based in Florida, USA that builds custom fishing gaffs and tools. This policy explains what information we collect when you use this website, place an order, or contact us, and how we use it. Information we collect
- Orders: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, and the items and options you choose.
- Payments: card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number; we may keep the card brand and last four digits for your order history.
- Accounts: if you create an account, your name, email address, an encrypted (hashed) version of your password, saved shipping details, order history and rewards points.
- Contact form: your name, email address, optional phone number and your message.
- Newsletter: your email address, if you choose to subscribe.
- Website usage: anonymous, aggregated statistics about page visits and site performance. These do not use cookies and do not identify you.
How we use your information
- To build, ship and support your order, and to send order confirmations and updates.
- To answer your questions and custom build enquiries.
- To run your account, saved details and rewards points.
- To send our newsletter if you have subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
- To keep the website secure and working well.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.
Services we share information with
We use trusted providers to run the shop. They only receive the information they need to do their job:
- Stripe — payment processing.
- Printful — production and shipping for some products (receives your shipping details).
- Shipping carriers — delivery of your order.
- Resend — sending order, account and newsletter emails.
- Sanity — secure storage of website content, orders and account records.
- Vercel — website hosting and cookie-free visit statistics.
- Instagram (via Elfsight) — only if you choose to load our Instagram feed.
Cookies and browser storage
- Essential: a secure sign-in cookie when you log in to your account, and browser storage that remembers your cart and your cookie choice. The site needs these to work.
- Optional: the Instagram feed on some pages is provided by a third party that may set its own cookies. It only loads if you accept optional cookies or choose to show the feed.
You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page.
How long we keep information
We keep order records for as long as needed for tax, accounting and customer support purposes. Account information is kept until you ask us to delete your account. Newsletter subscriptions are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices and rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop receiving marketing emails, by contacting riptidegaffs@gmail.com. Depending on where you live, you may have additional privacy rights; we will honour requests as required by law.
Security
We use secure connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords and reputable service providers to protect your information. No system is completely secure, but we work to keep your data safe.
Children
This website is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information.
